Job Summary

We are looking for warm, organized Hosts to join Grain and get matched with hiring restaurants across Austin. As a Host, you're the first and last impression of the restaurant, managing the flow of the dining room and setting the tone for every guest's visit. On Grain, your experience and coworker verifications build a profile that follows you from job to job, so Austin operators can see exactly how you handle a busy floor before they ever meet you.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and manage seating arrangements and waitlists

• Coordinate with servers and management to balance sections and pacing

• Answer phones and manage reservations accurately

• Keep the host stand and entryway organized and presentable

• Communicate wait times clearly and manage guest expectations during a rush

• Address guest concerns promptly and professionally

• Support the floor with bussing or resetting tables when needed

Qualifications

• Previous hosting or front-of-house experience preferred

• Comfortable with reservation and waitlist systems

• Strong communication and multitasking skills

• Calm, organized demeanor under pressure

• Friendly, guest-first attitude

• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
